How Sea Lighter Connect works
Connect is not an open directory and it is not an employment agency. Every job is reviewed by our team and every professional is checked before they can quote.
1. Tell us about the job
Choose a service, describe the work, add your postcode, photos and preferred dates. It takes a few minutes on a phone. Posting a job is free.
2. We check and share the job
Our team reviews the request, then shares it with a small number of vetted independent professionals who cover your area and hold the right credentials.
3. Compare and choose
You receive up to three quotes, compare them side by side, message through the platform and hire the professional directly.
4. Work agreed directly
The contract for the work is between you and the professional you choose. After completion you can leave a review tied to a real booking.
Your details stay private until you decide
- Professionals see the type of work and the approximate area — never your full address before you confirm a booking.
- All messages before booking go through the platform, so your phone number and email are not shared.
- Photos and documents you upload are stored privately and shared only with the people working on your job.
- Reviews can only be left after a completed booking, so ratings reflect real work.

Cleaning, gardening, grounds maintenance, handyman and property-maintenance businesses can apply to join the Sea Lighter Connect network as independent, self-employed providers. Checks are required before you can see or quote for work. Joining is free; you pay a fee only when you accept a job.

Identity, insurance and any credentials required for your trade are checked by our team before your profile goes live.

Registration and your profile are free. You pay a fee only when you choose to accept a job and contact the customer, so you stay in control of your spend.

How Sea Lighter Connect is paid
- Customers pay nothing to post a job or to receive quotes.
- Professionals register and build a profile free of charge.
- A professional pays a fee only when they choose to accept a job and contact the customer.
- The price of the work is agreed between the customer and the professional. Sea Lighter does not set it.
Independent status
- Professionals using Connect are independent businesses or self-employed contractors.
- Connect creates no contract of employment, worker status or agency relationship with customers or with Sea Lighter.
- Professionals choose which jobs to accept, set their own prices, hours and methods, and use their own equipment.
- Professionals are responsible for their own insurance, tax, National Insurance and any licences their trade requires.
- The contract for the work is directly between the customer and the professional.
